Chimpanzees are our closest relatives sharing almost 97% of our DNA. Uganda has a population of close to 5000 chimpanzees distributed in the various forests and game parks. The chimpanzee population in Uganda used to be much higher than it is today. The number used to be in tens of thousands but poaching, encroachment and unstable political environments led to the continuous decline in their population. These primates can be tracked in Uganda from many different places like Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kyambula Gorge, Budongo Forest in Murchison Falls National Park and many others. Come and explore these remaining amazing wilds with us. Get in touch with us below.
